partitioning under linux

i have a hard drive, the only OS on it is linux mint. is there a way using linux to partition it so i can put 7 on the second partition?

I would recommend installing Win 7 first then install Mint that way grub will do it for you when you install mint
Otherwise there is a mountain of info https://www.google.com/search?q=dual...+win7+and+mint

thank you. thats what i was going to do a couple different times, but backed out of it because i dont understand the vocabulary in linux and was apprehehensive about it because i was afraid it would wipe out my drive that has windows 7. may just wait till i can get a cheap netbook or something to put linux on it...what i cant understand are the terms in linux.
much harder than doing a windows install and partitioning and all.
it would be nice if they translated the terms such as grub and so forth into normal words.

They are normal words, just a different language.

yea. lol thats what i meant.....grub means what? everytime i see that word grub, i think of the almighty grubworm.
