Resize one desktop icon

I would like to make just one of my desktop icons bigger. I was told I could do it using IrfanView, and I did make an icon with a fave pic of mine, but it's the same size as the rest of them. I tried enlarging it with IV again, still the same size.

Is there a way to resize just one icon to make it bigger than the rest?

Thanks
Elva

I believe that will change the size of all the desktop icons.

You can't if it's on the desktop..........why not just add it to your Quicklaunch?

No. You misunderstood what you were told.
Icons can be made in different actual sizes, but all icons on the desktop will be the same apparent size.

hmmmm.... ive only tried it a couple times, but i trired resizing them, and youre right, it reverted back to the same size.... properties shows the change, but not the icon.....although i did make one and resized it and it resized the inside picture. not the size of the icon itself.... sorry elva. good luck.

I knew I could resize all of the icons but that's not what I want to do. I'll have a look at the links, thanks.

PaulD - I didnt misunderstand, I followed SirFredrico's instructions and that lets you make an icon in a style that you like, but it will stay the same size as the rest of them. I guess I just cant do what I want to do!
