Harley-

I updated Firefox and I also had an update on Flashplayer recently, now I can no longer can get sound on You Tube videos. I thought it might be a problem with the Flash player. ( I've posted the problem on PC questions and Answers)

Do you think it could have something to do with the Firefox update?

Thanks,
Mary

I downloaded Ccleaner, but it must be a different version than the one Penny used. There is no entry for Macromedia Flash player, so I can't follow the directions that Penny used.

I'm hoping that someone familiar with Ccleaner can walk me through it. I'm afraid to remove anything from the entries.

Here is the Url to Penny's solution.

http://forum.worldstart.com/showthre...=100252&page=4

It's the 14th one down.

As I said before, the version of Ccleaner that I downloaded doesn't have Macromedia Flash Player listed, so I can't follow her directions.

It's ADOBE FLASH PLAYER. in CC......which is listed!

So no sound at all or just with YOUTUBE?

Do a file search for that driver on your system.......you may not have it!

You're right it's listed under Adobe. You tube is where the video's had no sound, but all is well now.

FOR BRUCE

YIPEE!!! I got my audio back in ALL videos!!!! YIPEE!!

Elwood .......your link provided the solution!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!

For anyone else who has no audio with utube videos, I suggest you try this solution 'first'. After trying numerous fixes.....including uninstalling and reinstalling the Adobe Flash Player, adjusting audio settings, making registry changes, the following CCleaner tip solved my problem...........

Download and Install CCleaner v1.35.424 from HERE
Close all browser sessions, run ccleaner, select the
'Cleaner' option, untick everything on the 'Windows' page and on the
'Applications' page, then (still on the 'Applications' page) tick only the
'Macromedia Flash Player' option, then press [Analyze] and when this finishes press [Run Cleaner]. Now close ccleaner and try youtube .

THANKS AGAIN, ELWOOD!!!

Updating to 2.0.0.5 wiped out pretty well all my extensions. Not yet, thanks.

I've got 30 extensions and it didn't affect one of them?

What version were you running before>2.0.0.4?

Yep. I normally update as soon as possible.

I'll try again, but I really ended up with a plain vanilla install, even though all the add-ons (extensions and themes) were showing as present and functioning.

I used the online update. I'll try download and install.

No go - same result. All the extensions are there, but most aren't working, and I can't change themes, even though there is no suggestion that the changes haven't applied.

I've done it every which way:-

Over the top automatic update.
Over the top from download.
Uninstall 2.0.0.4 and install 2.0.0.5
Uninstall 2.0.0.5 and install 2.0.0.4

The end result is always the same - 2.0.0.5 is plain vanilla, 2.0.0.4 has all themes and extensions working.
