Incredimail won't send mail

Greetings

I have used IncrediMail several years and all of a s about a week ago it stopped sending messages.
I can receive messages but I canít send. This is the message I receive.
ď The outgoing mail smtp.Comcast.net does not respond. Please try again later. If this problem persist, contact your internet service provider.ĒDetails:
Socket Error: 10060 , Port: 25, Protocol: SMTP.A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

My Comcast email program that uses smtp.Comcast.net as outgoing server works fine.

I contacted Comcast and they said if Iím sending and receiving eMail on there website, there must be something wrong with Incedimail.

I have Incredimail premium and have re-installed it several times thinking that was the problem. Didnít help.

Then I went to the Tools menu, choose Accounts. Highlight the account (s) and selected properties. Checked all the settings both in General, Server and Advanced. Then as requested I then clicked on the Servers tab and put a check the box next to My Server Requires Authentication. Still didnít help.

Trying to get help from IncrediMail is harder then trying to pull teeth from a piss ant.

So now I'm checking with the pro's. Will you please try and help me?

When that happened to me sometime ago, I called my ISP, they said
nothing wrong at their end for sending..Well called again & they traced it
to their end & finally said they had a problem..First call this was denied.
Was told they were working on it & the next day it was fixed & sending
properly.

Thanks for the info. I called them again and they said it's working on their end. Hung up and called them back and talked with someone else and got the same answer. again.

Incredimail won't send mail

It's me again.
All my settings are right. The thing that gets me is that I can send email on the Comcast website and also through Outlook Express using SMTP.comcast.net.

Do you still have the key code that came with your premium pkg? Is you do re-enter it where it says registration code in your help icon, cllick O.k. it should say you've successfully entered your code.

Incredimail won't send mail

I already tried that.
I just entered my code again and it still doesn't work.

It's got to be in the "whatever" because my laptop doesn't send mail either. Hummmm!

Incredimail says to check your firewall settings, did you do that? To make sure that's not what is blocking you.

They also say to double check that you don't have a comma instead of a dot or other misspelling.

Found this from Lockergnome..Comcast being picky?

James - July 16, 2007 @ 10:40 am

I just went to work on someoneís computer this weekend, and after a long time I finally pin pointed the problem to the outgoing mail port. after contacting comcast 5-6 times, I FINALLY got a good csr who knew what he was talking about. He was explaining that due to spam and stuff, they have started to block outgoing port 25 (std smtp) and only allowing the secure outgoing mail port (587). I complained that they didnít bother to let anyone know ó but none the less, it was a surprise to me they did that (though, it makes sense).

Comcast Blocking Port 25?

by Steve Mermelstein on April 12, 2007 at 5:25 am ∑ Comments
Categorized by Computer Security & Alerts / Related Information

There has been a lot of reports that Comcast is selective blocking outbound TCP port 25 and now seems to also block the inbound port as well. TCP Port 25 is used for SMTP, the email protocol for downloading email from a mail server to a third party email client.

More and more ISPs limit port 25 access in order to cut down on spam sent through their servers. But it also prevents legitimate users from sending email with third party mail hosting services, including even their own web sitesí domain names.

Comcast Tech Support doesnít seem to be aware of any change and Comcast hasnít informed their subscribers that port 25 is now blocked both ways but many Comcast users have begun complaining about their mail being blocked on message boards over the past few weeks. Some users are also claiming that Comcast Support has told them that they need to upgrade their service to a business account but I havenít been able to get any Techs to suggest this to me.

Are you having problems? Did you contact Comcast? What did they tell you?
