How to change file associations for internet explorer
After uninstalling adobe I now have a problem with PDF files. I use ghostview to open postscript and pdf files, no problem with that. But if I use internet explorer to open links to pdf files, the web browser still tries to open the file using adobe. I can still open the file by right clicking and storing the file on disk, but I can't open it straightaway.
When I was still using adobe pdf files were displayed in the browser. I didn't like that and changed the settings. But strangely, that didn't work. Therefore, I simply uninstalled the program, but Internet Explorer still attempts to open links to pdf files in the browser. |

In windows explorer hold down the shift key while right clicking on one of the files you want to change associations.
This gives the option of open with. Choosing open with you can then from the pop up menu choose which program opens a file. You may want to put a check in the always use this program to open check box.
