Stuck in Safe Mode - No Escape!

When I turned on my p.c. this morning, it scanned files and went into safe mode. It STAYS in safe mode, even tho I've shut down several times. I've run virus scan, and I'm OK. Any suggestions? Please?? Thank you!

Hi Auntie Em,
I'm assuming you have Win98? If so, follow the directions below. - Restart in DOS Mode
- at the prompt, type: scanreg /restore
- select a date prior to the safe-mode problems
- restart
Try it & let us know.

Exclamation

Depending on which OS you have ,all you have to do is hit the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys at the same time and it'll boot you back into normal mode........otherwise bring the option menu up and choose normal mode [#1] and hit enter!

STUCK IN SAFE MODE - NO ESCAPE!

To Sandy from Bklyn: Voila! Hooray! Cartwheels! Ya DID it! You helped me escape Safe Mode, and it was such a quick and easy fix. Thank you sooo much!

The only thing I was unprepared for was the loud SNAP! when I touched the 'r' key for Restart! In a dead silent house late at night, it nearly rocketed me out of my seat - LOL

Again, thank you, and God bless!

My computer went into safe mode at start up. It has never done this before. It was back to normal when I restarted it but was wondering if there is a reason why it should do this. The only thing I installed last night was the e-mail cleaner download from WorldStart. I defrag in safe mode but haven't done that since last week.
Just don't like strange things happening to my computer without knowing the reason.
Thanks..

Hi Terry,
Sometimes driver conflicts can cause the computer to boot into safe mode unexpectedly. If it only happened this once, it's probably nothing to worry about. Check in your device manager for driver problems, there will be a yellow triangle with an exclamation point next to any detected problem drivers. Start another thread if you keep having this problem and I'm sure someone here can help. Good luck!
