Photo Paper

I bought Kodak Premium Photo Paper from Costco. The photographs came out pretty good but the paper I thought was not thick enough.
I noticed this ad from Office Depot. Could some one tell me if they have had any experience with this paper and will it be thicker? The Kodak one it did not mention the thickness. I notice with this one the thickness is nine-mil thick.

Thank you

Sheila

Sheila: I have tried numerous photo papers for my HP 1215 PhotoSmart Printer. I have come to the conclusion that I get the best results using HP Premium Photo Paper, either glossy or matte. They are 9 mil and feel almost exactly like "store bought". I do not use the 4"x6", but rather the 8"x11", as I usually wait until I have several pictures to print. I am selective about only printing pictures that I intend to frame, thus, I print a lot of 5"x 7" or 8"x10". The rest I burn to a CD-R and view on the monitor.

I saw the same paper you got at Costco Sheila & was going to split a package (2 75 sheet packs of 4" by 6") with a friend, but haven't done it yet. I really wish the stores would sell individual sheets of the different papers so we could try them & see what works best.

Thank you all.
I bought HP Glossy Premium, nine mil.
I haven't tried it yet but will let you know how it works.
My printer is HP, so fingers crossed I hope for some good results.

To show you what an absolute loony I am I bought the book Paint Shop Pro 8 for Dummies for thirty bucks on impulse. Of course I don't own Paint Shop Pro 8, I bought the book to talk myself into spending $159 (plus GST and PST) on the program. That's how much it costs in Canada. I tried to buy it on line from Costco but they don't ship to Canada. My logic is I will now have to buy the program as I have the book.

I use the same logic in buying clothes, buy the shoes first! Guilt free I end up.

Sheila

I have had two photo printers a Canon BJC 6000 and now an HP 7550 have tried multiple paper brands and I still like the results I get from the Canon Photo Paper Plus Glossy the best. It is 92iso brightness, 270g/m weight/17.91lbs, and 10.5 mil. thickness

I've just recently purchased some KODAK Premium Picture Paper /High Gloss at Walmart. It says 61 lb.-230 g/m -8 mil

The pictures I've printed on it are the best I've ever printed out. They look just like what you would take and have developed. The photo paper I'd been using was Mead which looked ok to me till I got the KODAK paper.

Shelia, you can go here http://www.jasc.com/products/paintshoppro/ and download a free trial of the PSP8. Maybe this will help persuade you to buy it
