How to remove Pass word on Welcome to Windows!

My computer is Packer Bell. I use Windows 98. I have 62 Ram. Memory is 32 bits. My problem is this. Now when I start my computer it asks for my User name and pass word which it never did before, as I choose not to use. How do I remove the popup that welcome windows does? I know I can just click the x and it goes away for that time. But I have to wait for the computer to finish it start up. I like to turn my computer on and go away and come back and it's ready to do E-mail.

Only new thing I can remember at this time is I tryed / A new short cut 4 and 8 quick shut downs. typed in this command line....rundll32.exe shell32.dll,SHExitWindowsEx N then number 4 then tryed 8. It took longer to shut down if I did it the normal way, so I deleted each one of the icons. but now I have a longer startup ,as I have the welcome popup to remove each time.

This is a small problem but it bugs me. Please any help on this will be thanked for.

To prevent Windows from prompting you for a password at startup: 1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network.
2. On the Configuration tab, click Windows Logon in the Primary Network Logon box, and then click OK.
3. When you are prompted to restart your computer, click No.

You are very welcome & glad you could post back..

If you want easy access to the board- right click with the whole boards shown and choose create shortcut & will go to your desktop..
Then you can come back more often..
