How Do You Change URL to Clickable Link With Different Name?

I often get e-mails with clickable links that are more appropriate or descriptive than the URL address.

For example, I just got an e-mail for a cute online game at this URL:

http://www.club300.ru/public/content...ew/cat_new.swf

but instead of the URL address, the clickable link was this:

Cat Bowling

How do you do that?

I copied and pasted your text into an e-mail and sent it to myself, and this is what I got:

It works at forums where I have to make links using html rather than bb code (which is used here). I guess I don't know how to do it in email, sorry.

This is bb code:

Cat Bowling

Outlook Express?

To create a hyperlink from message text, simply select the text before you create the hyperlink.
Type the word or words you want to use for a link.
For instance, type Worldstart in the message area.
Now run the mouse over the word & it will become highlighted.
Go up to insert, choose hyperlink.
In the url line, type www.worldstart, click ok.
Now you will see the word Worldstart as a clickable link.
Look at the attachments below.

When you have the page open, right click on the address and choose Copy. Then in OE, in the body of the message, type Cat Bowling. Then highlight it and click on the hyperlink icon (looks like a globe with glasses on). then hit the Backspace button or Delete button and that will remove the http:// then right click on the space where the http:// was and choose Paste then OK. that will make it so that when you send the message the receiving party will just have to click on it and it will open to the Cat Bowling page.

For hotmail (see attachment)

Outlook Express, this is under help.
To insert a hyperlink or HTML page into a message

Click the place in the message where you want the hyperlink or Web page text to appear.
To add a hyperlink, on the Insert menu, click Hyperlink. Select the file type, and then type the location or address of the link.
To add an HTML page, on the Insert menu, click Text from File. In the Files of type box, select HTML Files, and then find the file you want to add.

Notes

If you cannot select the Hyperlink menu command, make sure HTML formatting is turned on by clicking the Format menu in the message window and then clicking Rich Text (HTML). A black dot appears by the command when it is selected.
To create a hyperlink from message text, simply select the text before you create the hyperlink.

No. You need someplace to host that information for your info in WS. You can add a signature in WS by going to User CP then click on Edit signature and go from there. That is stored here and not someplace else. That is where my info is at in my signature.

You can make a clickable link in the signature area by doing this.
Open Notepad, type in your information. Now take a screenshot of it & save as a jpg.
Go to http://tinypic.com which is a free hosting site.
Upload the image & copy the last code, the URL Link & paste in the signature area.
Add what I have here to your link - <a href="your url link would be here">My Computer Specs</a>

I use Print Key 2000, when I hit the print screen button, it comes up in that & you go up to file & save as picture.
If you want, you can type your info. in a message here & I will make a link for you, just take a minute. Or pm the info to me.

You can download Print Key http://www.webtree.ca/newlife/printkey_info.htm if you want to give it a try. I have the free version.
I have to get off the PC, will be back later.

It makes it so much easier when a poster has their info right there in front of you. You don't have to click on a link and go looking for what they have then try to answer their question. That is just my 2¢ worth.

Misty - go into your signature & replace <a href- with <a href=
That is the only thing wrong keeping it from being a clickable link.
If you are wondering how I know this, I clicked the view source.
